We’re thrilled to welcome a fantastic lineup of guest speakers, including Diana Van Dyke, an official reporter; Lidia Perez, a CART captioner; and Jessica Villanueva, a freelancer and voice writer.

About the Speakers:
Diana Van Dyke, CSR
Diana has been a court reporter since 1995. She began her career as an independent contractor, reporting depositions for more than five years before fulfilling her first professional goal of becoming a Los Angeles Superior Court official in 2001. After more than ten years of serving the public in civil assignments at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, she now finds herself enjoying the challenges of a felony criminal court assignment.

Lidia Perez CCG, CVR
Lidia is a highly skilled and experienced captioner who is proficient in both steno writing and voice writing methods. With a strong educational foundation and years of professional experience, she has had the opportunity to work with prestigious institutions and high-level companies across the United States and beyond. As a freelance captioner, Lidia has collaborated with numerous agencies, providing on-site and remote captioning services. Notably, she lived in New York to offer her expertise to Columbia Law School, enhancing accessibility for their community. Her work has also extended to elite college divisions, including Harvard, Stanford, and Yale. Her career has also afforded her extensive travel opportunities across the United States, and even traveled internationally to countries like Canada. Lidia has had the privilege of working with high-level companies such as Amazon, Google, Disney, Vidcon, and Microsoft, further honing her skills and expanding her professional network. In addition to captioning, Lidia is an instructor at Downey Adult School Court Reporting Program from which she is also a graduate.

Jessica Villanueva, CSR, CVR
Jessica is a freelance voice writer, CVR, California CSR, and is a graduate of West Valley College Court Reporting Program. She has participated in multiple Bay Area mock trials and depositions. She is a content creator on multiple social media platforms and shares her journey of reporting with students and new reporters.
